Géographe and the Casuarina finally meet at King George Sound after being separated at Kangaroo Island. Tents are erected onshore for sick seafarers and for the naturalists. The botanist Leschenault and Guichenot the gardener, collect over 200 new species of dried and living botanical specimens.
