The Investigator lands in Port Jackson. Ten weeks are spent in the colony while the ship is repaired and stocked. The Governor of NSW places the brig Lady Nelson under Flinders' command and instructs him to proceed next to the Torres Strait. Nine convicts are recruited to replace the men lost at Memory Cove. Two Aboriginal crew also join the expedition: Bongaree and a boy, Nanbaree. Captain Baudin arrives on 20 June in Le Geographe. The French officers and crew are much reduced by scurvy.
