The expeditioners survey the Percy Isles and Cumberland Islands in the Great Barrier Reef. The Lady Nelson runs into trouble navigating a series of small reefs, causing both vessels to lose an anchor. With the monsoon season approaching, Flinders declares the brig a liability and sends her back to the colony. Nanbaree quits the expedition and hitches a ride back to Port Jackson.
